Supporting the community

When it comes to operating a construction site the size and scale of Edmonton EcoPark, it certainly takes a community effort. That’s why it’s important to all project stakeholders that the community benefit as much as possible from the works happening on site.

From opportunities to join the construction workforce, to working with local people and communities that enrich the community.

Job opportunities for everyone

NRL are proud to be a diverse recruiter, and welcome applications from people from all walks of life.

We hold the Inclusive+ Recruiter certification, awarded to us by the Association of Professional Staffing companies - just one of the accolades we’ve earned that demonstrate we’re committed to supporting people from all backgrounds to gain rewarding employment.

Recruiting locally

We’re keen that as many local people as possible have access to supplementary work on the construction project.

It was therefore great to host a recruitment event at the Engine Room in Tottenham Hale in February 2024 where ACCIONA’s project team shared an update on the work happening on site across two sessions.

NRL’s recruitment team were on hand to chat to visitors about the talent pool and discuss the various skills that they expect will be needed across the length of the project.

We’re an Armed Forces friendly employer

In 2022 NRL became a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant - formalising our many years supporting armed forces personnel.

It’s something our Recruiters are passionate about, and you’ll regularly find our job vacancies listed on the Career Transition Partnership, as we look to help military leavers with career opportunities that best utilise their vast and diverse talents.

We’re also always keen to hear from veterans, reservists and Armed Forces family members, who are looking for job and career advice and support - as our team are always happy to chat.

Championing social mobility

We believe in giving everyone the same opportunity to build a successful life, which is why it was important to NRL to sign the Social Mobility Pledge.

We want to work with local community stakeholders to give access to job opportunities for everyone, and provide the foundations to forge a career that affords a good life.
