Working on Edmonton ERF

NRL are partnering with ACCIONA to manage a talent pool for construction job opportunities on the Edmonton Energy Recovery Facility (ERF).

Here you can find out more about what the talent pool is and how work will become available on the project.

We’ll also give you all the latest information you need to know about working on the project.

Project roles for the Energy Recovery Facility

Sub contractors working on the project for ACCIONA will be required to engage workers from the talent pool every time they have a requirement for supplementary labour.

This means, if you’re interested in working on the ERF construction site, you’ll need to have registered to join NRL’s talent pool for the project.

Just some of the disciplines and expertise we’re looking to add to the project talent pool:

Apprentice, Chargehand, Mechanical, Electrical, Driver/Operator, Scaffolding, Health and Safety, Fabrication, Inspection, Rope Access, Piping, Project Control, Rigging, Plating, Welding, HVAC, QA and QC.

Working on a NAECI site

If you’re new to working under the NAECI working rule agreement, then find out more about what it means for you as a worker.

  • NAECI sets out the standard rates and pay that contractors across the project are required to follow. This includes overtime and holiday pay.

  • Pension deductions, where relevant, are also managed through the NAECI working agreement, and your employer will make deductions on your behalf.

  • Key practices such as the working conditions on the site and the welfare package for workers is also covered through the NAECI.

  • Clear and transparent communication are the guiding principles of NAECI, ensuring everyone is kept updated.

Support when you need it

At NRL, we’re committed to ensuring our contractors have the support and help whenever they need it.

Whether that’s practical support to help them understand their pay and pension, or access to resources to support them in their time of need.

That’s why we’re a company supporter of the Lighthouse Club, who provide emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support for construction industry workers and their families.
